Employee Spotlight: Britney Via, Teller

Share

Britney Via, a teller at the Bath County branch in Hot Springs, has been a part of the Highlands Community Bank family since May 2020. She demonstrates a solid commitment to both her role and the local community. Whether it’s handling teller duties or ensuring protection against fraud, Britney goes the extra mile to assist our customers in any way possible.

A Journey of Growth and Going Above and Beyond

Beginning her journey during the height of the pandemic with no prior teller experience posed a challenge for Britney. With the lobby closed and customer interaction at a minimum, she dedicated her time to learning the skills needed to provide top-notch service to the community.

While Britney’s primary role is being a teller, she also handles internal tasks like file maintenance, auditing, loan assistance, and fraud protection. She plays a crucial role in combating fraud by assisting customers with debit card issues and disputes. In today’s world, where scams and fraud are increasingly common, having someone like Britney on our team ensures that our neighbors’ financial well-being is protected.

A Local Bank with a Personal Touch

What attracted Britney to work at Highlands Community Bank was its strong connection to the local community. As a small, local bank, we prioritize building relationships with your customers and supporting our neighbors. “The close-knit family atmosphere at the bank resonated with me,” Britney mentions. “To be part of an organization that genuinely cares about its community.”

Team members like Britney often know precisely what each customer needs before they even have the chance to ask. This familiarity creates a sense of trust and comfort for our staff and the community.

Here for the Community

Highlands Community Bank strives to be an integral part of the community. We invest in our local area through sponsorships, donations, and active participation in the area’s events. Supporting our neighbors is at the core of what we do, and Britney embodies this commitment through her dedication to serving our customers and helping them navigate their financial journeys.

One of the distinguishing benefits of Highlands Community Bank is our commitment to being a local bank that makes local decisions. When you apply for a loan with us, you’re not dealing with a faceless organization. “Customers often get answers and sign documents on the same day,” says Britney. “Our personalized touch, where we know our customers and their needs, is what sets us apart.”

When she’s not at work, you might find Britney enjoying the great outdoors on the Jackson River Trail or spending quality time with her loved ones. Her passion for her community extends beyond the walls of Highlands Community Bank.

A Home at Highlands Community Bank

Britney is actively involved with the Bath Animal Welfare Foundation, a valued customer of the bank. Her love for animals and commitment to the community extends into her personal life. This is an excellent example of how our values at Highlands Community Bank don’t stop at our door. They are embedded in our employees’ lives, strengthening the bond within our community. When you enter our bank, you’re not just another transaction; you’re a neighbor, and Britney treats you like one.
